PTK-SMF is comprised of the authentic Pekiti-Tirsia-Kali three sub-systems:
- Doce Methodos, or twelve methods of Pasugat, which address combat from the strategic principle of “contact”
- Contradas, comprised of the Contradas, Recontras and Recontradas of Pasunan, which enables direct counter-offense to the opponent’s weapon hand without blade to blade or weapon to weapon contact
- Contra-Tirsia Dubla-Dos, which contains the central strategy in the ability to execute Tirsia or counter (Contra) Tirsia
Pekiti-Tirsia Kali (PTK) :
The Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system is close quarters and in-fighting system dating back to 1897, which is the oldest Filipino Martial Art that is used in today’s modern world for combat training. The Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system originates from the province of Negros Occidental in the Philippines, formulated by the Tortal family of Negros and Panay islands. The family patriarch, Conrado B. Tortal, passed the system onto his only grandson Grand Tuhon Leo Tortal Gaje, Jr.
Tuhon Tim Waid began his training in the same system with Grand Tuhon Gaje in 1988. His passion has been to learn, study, and master the authentic Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system. Tuhon Tim Waid is the only Pekiti-Tirsia Kali Instructor certified by Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje in the original authentic Pekiti-Tirsia Kali sub-systems of Doce Methodos, Contradas, and Contra-Tirsia.
